Today’s post is going to be short and sweet, because today’s task was short and sweet : streamline my reading list.
This was something that I actually did a few weeks ago, in preparation for moving back to school. I’d had books that I’d been lugging back and forth to school for years, because they were books I felt like I should read, but that I don’t necessarily want to read – especially not on top of a college reading load. Examples of this include The Bell Jar and Wuthering Heights. I really do want to read these books, but maybe in a bit when I have more time, and not when I’m forcing myself to do so.
Here are the books I brought to school, and intend to make time to read:
- The Hangman’s Daughter by Oliver Pötzsch
- Wildwood by Colin Meloy
- Mr. Fox by Helen Oyeyemi
- The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri
- Zelda by Nancy Milford
- Life and Death by Stephenie Meyer (This is such a guilty pleasure I can’t even talk about it, but I decided to re-read it for fun.)
- I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson (One of my favorites of all time. I brought it back more to have it then to actually read it!)
So that’s my streamlined reading list! Nothing too fancy, just some books I’m genuinely excited to read.
Also, today marks a week of trying to living minimally. It’s definitely a process, but I’m intending to really take it much further in the remaining weeks. I hope you’re enjoying the journey as much as I am!
